Size: 12oz retail bag Taste Notes: Orange Blossom, Grenadine, Eclipse Sensory: Lipton tea, aperol spritz, cutie clementines, solar flare, solar flair, syzygy, peak foliage Region: Bona Zuria, Sidama Bensa, Ethiopia Grown By: ~300 smallholder farmers Elevation: Up to 2,300 meters Varieties: Field blend, largely 74158 (locally nicknamed “Zipa”) + various other JARC and landrace varieties Processing: Washed Yeah, this one’s got it. That inimitable sunny day swagger, that crisp cocktail slickness, that flowery citrusy super-saturated sweetness that just can’t be faked: WASHED ETHIOPIA. At it again, and resplendent as ever. Perhaps our reddest orangest coffee of the year so far (one in a vermilion?), this one is not to be missed. Ayele Tulu got into coffee after retiring from 45 years of governmental service. Returning to his family stomping grounds of Bona Zuria, Sidama, he set up his own washing station.
