Our second 2026 Kenyan coffee of the season comes to us through our close partners Falcon Coffees. Falcon's intentionality behind their Kenyan sourcing this season was impressive, and paved the way for a couple special lots we were fortunate to buy. This lot from the Kathima Factory in Embu was vac sealed and air freighted in, in order to preserve quality.

If our first Kenyan release this season (Muburi AB) was crisp melon and tea vibes, Kathima AB swings heavily into red florals and tart red fruits. We have been drinking this coffee repeatedly during our roast profiling, enamored with degree to which the profile screams "hibiscus!" This may be the most distinct red floral / hibiscus Kenyan coffee we have encountered to date. This expressive florality is backed by vibrant, sugary red fruit like raspberry. The acidity lingers long on the finish, and is bright and buoyant like a Sonic Drive In Limeade. This is an incredibly well-rounded Kenyan profile, at peak freshness and vibrancy.
